AFTER what felt like a brutally long winter, Jersey Spartan runners would have felt relief turning up for JSAC’s Spring 10km race on Sunday morning in warm and sunny conditions.

None more so than Josh Brien and Rosie Adamson, who won the men’s and women’s races respectively.

Brien took the lead early and steadily increased his advantage to finish in a gun time of 33mins 57secs ahead of Will Dupre (34.56) and Paul Duxbury (36.05).

Meanwhile, in the women’s race Adamson stamped her authority, pulling clear to win from Claire Wilson in a gun time of 41mins 37 secs. Wilson (42.25) finished ahead of Clara Ginnis (42.54) in third.

The prize for performance of the day went to Joe Hart for shaving over a minute off his 10km personal best for a gun time of 41mins 43secs, the next finisher home after women’s winner Adamson.

JSAC extended their thanks to all the helpers, marshals and timekeepers, as well as SandpiperCI for helping the runners to refuel with a generous donation of mini eggs.
