Glencoe auctioneer Simon Drieu said he could not believe his eyes when he found the items in an outbuilding during a recent house clearance.
Such items were commonplace in farm sales in the 1980s but Mr Drieu, who has been an auctioneer for 25 years, says he hasn’t seen anything like this for two decades.
‘We went into the outbuildings and we found a Jersey horse van and an old Jersey horse cart, which was the tipping cart used generally around the farm for carting things like mangels,’ he said.
The items are due to be auctioned by Simon Drieu & Co Ltd at the company’s site at Glencoe Auction Rooms, in St Lawrence, on Wednesday.
The sale begins at 11 am and lots can be viewed from 8.30 am to 7 pm the day before.
