Sam Logan was just eased out of a bronze medal in the overall set floor and vault, totalling 18.650 points to the Isle of Man bronze winner Lorna Heaton’s 18.825.

The Isle of Man triumphed through Danielle O’Neill (18.9) and also had Sakia McCormac (18.875) taking silver.In the individual vault, Logan was equal fifth with 9.50, the bronze again tantalisingly snatched away with 9.55 – and again by the Isle of Man.The strength of Jersey’s challenge can be gauged by the closeness of the points spread: Sophie Marshman was seventh with 9.475, Nicola Booth tenth with 9.425, Jessica Marett and Lauren McEwan equal 12th with 9.35 and Michelle Kent, in her first competition, joint 16th with 9.3.On the floor, Logan was joint fourth, scoring 9.15, with Booth equal sixth having recorded 9.10 points.Said general Jersey gymnastics manager Arthur Falle: ‘What is really pleasing is that the gap between the Isle of Man and Bermuda, who had three of their team in the Manchester Commonwealth Games last year, is not very big at all.’The girls go home with bronze won earlier in the week from the team floor and vault.Overall set floor and vault, Jersey scores: equal 5, Samantha Logan 18.65; 8, Nicola Booth 18.525; 14, Jessica Marett 18.175; 19, Michelle Kent 17.25.
