The victim, who had been waiting for a friend between 11.30 pm and midnight, struggled and, as she turned to face him, was punched in the face near her left eye.
She screamed and her assailant ran off.Poor street lighting in the area of the assault – near the caged football pitch in Pine Court – means the victim was only able to describe the man as being between 5ft 8in and 5ft 9in.The victim did not suffer any injuries but has been offered help from Victim Support.Police have conducted door-to-door inquiries and are asking anyone with information to contact police headquarters on 612612 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
