The Agriculture and Fisheries Department say that the importation of pesticides has decreased by that amount since the Pesticides Law was introduced 12 years ago.
The figures, they say, show a real reduction in use rather than a reflection of the general downturn in agriculture.’Collectively, these reductions are great news, demonstrating real progress in agricultural practices that will pay off in long-term improvements for the quality of Jersey’s water and its natural environment,’ said Economic Development Committee member Deputy Mike Taylor, who has responsibility for agriculture.
