The Hawk jet careered up and over a bank and across the Airport perimeter road before coming to rest on a steep slope just before 1 pm.It stopped on a manmade embankment just feet away from a road busy with enthusiasts trying to get a glimpse of the display team.One eye-witness said that had the plane travelled a few yards further, it would have crashed over a 300ft drop and plummeted into houses in Val de la Mare.A Red Arrows spokesman said he was not aware of any serious damage to the aircraft and confirmed Thursday’s display would go ahead as planned.An investigation has begun into the incident.
