Nominations for the third annual Jersey Awards for Enterprise are invited from today, with eight major awards up for grabs.
Full details are available on the website www.jerseyawards.com and nomination forms can be completed online.Deputy Lyndon Farnham, vice-president of the Economic Development Committee and chairman of the emerging industries sub-committee, said in the past three years the awards had gone from strength to strength.’Partnership is one of the central ideas,’ he told business and community representatives at last night’s launch at the Jersey Museum.
‘The Jersey syndrome is all doom and gloom, but let’s demonstrate how good we are and have a bit more pride.’This year’s theme is ‘alchemy’, symbolising the transformation of base metals into gold.The event has attracted 12 sponsors, with six of the awards based on business categories: Small business, finance, entrepreneur of the year, education/industry link, excellence, and the main enterprise award.There are also two community awards: the Lloyds TSB community award, and the Guiton Jersey ambassador of the year.
