Consul staff have been in touch with the families of both men in Jersey, but have not visited the accused in Thailand yet.Under Thai law, both can be held for up to 12 days until formal charges are laid against them.It is understood that Sale used to go to Le Rocquier School, that he has worked at the Royal Bank of Canada in the past and that he has been living in Thailand for two years. The two men were arrested after a police sting operation in Phuket.

Police say they sold three tablets of methamphetamine to an undercover female Thai police officer posing as a drugs buyer and were then found to have 90 more tablets in their rented accommodation.
