Les Pas inquiry could cost £1m

A Committee of Inquiry is likely to be set up into the saga, which began in 1987 and ended last week after Les Pas holdings dropped all legal claim to the St Helier foreshore.

They did so after being given a £10 million prime site on the waterfront next to the Elizabeth Marina.Privileges president Senator Christopher Lakeman said he had been told that the Policy and Resources Committee, who will take a report to the States asking for a Committee of Inquiry, estimated that it could cost up to £1 million.’Clearly, in the absence of seeing the papers and examining them I cannot make a complete judgment, but I have to say I probably agree with the assessment,’ said the Senator.
