Hairdressing salons  urged to go for a trim

Almost 90 stylists are now in business and salon owners are saying the market is flooded.

Senator Paul Le Claire says that they should form a local association to add weight to their claims that no more salons should open until another closes.There are no restrictions on the number of hairdressers allowed to work in Jersey or open businesses if they qualify under the Regulations of Undertakings and Development Law, although there are for some occupations such as doctors and dentists.

The Senator said: ‘There are businesses being licensed without much regard for their requirements so I thought it was time that everyone pulled together there may be a better chance for them to get some results.
