The statistics published today contradict the perception that younger people are routinely more responsible in their attitude towards drinking and driving, with a quarter of the 1,296 arrested over the limit since 1999 being in their 20s.The statistics also seem to reinforce the image of the young boy racer, with the most recorded speeding offences being committed by those aged 21 to 30.A total of 433 21 to 30-year-olds have been charged with drink-driving during the past five years compared to just 347 people aged between 41 and 60.
