The virulent influenza A, which originated in China and caused major health problems during Australia’s winter, has broken out in the UK, causing the deaths of two children in England and three in Scotland.
The youngest was 18 months old.Flu experts fear that the country could be in for an epidemic this winter, following mild flu seasons, with no major outbreaks over the past three years.
Last week the UK Chief Medical Officer contacted all health authorities warning of the outbreak.Those considered most are risk are young children, people above 65 years and sufferers of asthma, diabetes and chronic heart, renal and respiratory problems.
