Jersey: It’s the reel deal

Jersey: It’s the reel deal

A FILM production company intends to make a ‘star-studded, romantic comedy blockbuster’ featuring well-known actors in Jersey next year.

It will be a sequel to Snappers, a movie featuring singer Joss Stone and a host of British comedy stars, including Keith Barron, Tim Healy and soap star Denise Welsh, and will be released later this year.

The original movie, produced by Devon Films, is expected to be a headline-grabber when it is released in the UK, as it features a scene with Miss Stone filming a lesbian kiss with another actress. The as-yet unseen footage has been a hot topic in the US and has featured in a number of TV and radio programmes, including the Ellen Degeneres show.

Following a visit to Jersey last week, producer George Bamby is now intent on filming Snappers 2 here, as he was so impressed by the welcome he received. And he says that hundreds of Islanders will have the chance to be involved in a project that will showcase Jersey to a worldwide audience.
