Richard Sugden, who has been in place as deputy head at the primary since 2013, is due to take over from Gill Grieve who has announced that she is stepping down at the end of the term.
Mr Sugden said: ‘I am very excited and honoured to be chosen to lead this wonderful school and am particularly looking forward to developing even greater links with Jersey College for Girls and Victoria College Preparatory in order to further enhance the learning opportunities for our children.
‘I am very proud of what we achieve for our students here at Jersey College Prep and of the welcoming atmosphere at the school and the positive approach to learning.’
Nick Kershaw, chairman of the JCG board of governors, said that he was delighted to welcome Mr Sugden as the new head teacher.
He said: ‘Mr Sugden has a wealth of experience in senior teams and as a deputy head. I have had the pleasure of working with him as a deputy head of JCP and his appointment will ensure the school continues to go from strength to strength.’
