Pupils perform pirate pieces of eight

Held on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 March, Pirates of the Curry Bean! was a Key Stage 2 production and told the story of Jack and Liza Periwinkle, a pair of young twins whose dreams of adventure become a reality when they discover a long-lost treasure map.

Things turn hairy, however, when the infamous Captain Redbeard and his foul-smelling pirates steal the map and kidnap Jack and Liza’s mother, leading the plucky twosome to set sail on a voyage to the mysterious island of Lumbago in the Sea of Sciatica.

Performed in eight separate chapters (with titles such as The Squirty Squid and HMS The Crunchy Frog), Pirates of the Curry Bean! saw more than 30 pupils donning colourful costumes and adopting arrrr-thentic pirate accents to bring the swashbuckling musical comedy to life.
