Man arrested after electric-scooter collision

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and bailed after allegedly colliding with a pedestrian while he was on an electric scooter.

He was arrested on Monday on suspicion of driving a vehicle while unfit through drink or drugs, failing to report an accident and driving an unregistered motor vehicle on a road. The man allegedly collided with a female pedestrian on Patier Road in St Saviour and crashed into a wall, injuring his face. He then left the scene, according to the States police. They said he was located and arrested shortly after.

The woman was treated by paramedics and taken to the Emergency Department. Her injuries were described as not life-threatening or life-changing.

The man’s scooter was seized and he was released on bail while inquiries continue.
