Golfing greats gather to pay last respects to Tommy Horton

Among those paying their respects were fellow Ryder Cup golfers and former European captains Bernard Gallagher and Ian Woosnam, former F1 racing driver Derek Warwick and the Lieutenant-Governor, Air Chief Marshal Sir Steven Dalton.

Mr Horton died earlier this month, aged 76, after taking ill at the agm of the Royal Jersey Golf Club. During a highly successful career spanning several decades he won titles on the European Tour, represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Ryder Cup and England in the 1976 World Cup, before going on to dominate the European Seniors Tour.
